According to the materials of the criminal case, 57-year-old Evgeny Luzhbin collected money from his subordinates for various violations, for example, drinking alcohol or leaving military unit, writes the trans-Baikal newspaper “Vechorka”. ASTRA source claims that Luzhbin commanded the motorized infantry battalion of the military unit 95482, which was located in the village of Elenovka of the so-called “DPR”.
The case under the article on bribes on a particularly large scale (part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code) was initiated by the Investigative Committee of Mariupol. According to investigators, Luzhbin received at least one million rubles in bribes from military personnel during the year.
“If the soldiers refused to pay taxes and pay-offs to Luzhbin, he threatened that they would go to storm units on the line of contact for a long time, where they could be killed or wounded,” the decree on the initiation of a criminal case says.
Luzhbin allegedly demanded that subordinates write reports on voluntary transfer to assault units and not specify the date, so that they could then be used for blackmail.
According to ASTRA, in 2018 Luzhbin was already tried for unjustified enrichment: he received a military salary for four years, although he had already been discharged at that time. In total, during this time, he received 2.5 million rubles from the state. He was drafted into the army in the fall of 2022 as part of the mobilization.
In August, criminal cases were initiated against several more commanders from Transbaikal regions, “Vechorka” writes. These are Colonel Z.H. Ravshanov, Major B.S. Rygzanov and Sergeant N.S. Mazulev. The military is accused of putting people in pits for offenses, demanding a ransom of 50 thousand rubles for leaving them.
Earlier, ASTRA had already written about cases of illegal detention of people in pits in military unit 95482. In total, ASTRA discovered 17 basements and in the occupied territory of the “LPR” and “DPR”.
