On the morning of November 19, the Russian Defense Ministry announced attack of the launch site of the American ATACMS missiles, with which the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked Voronezh the day before.
“In the area of Volosskaya Balakleya settlement (50 km south-east of Chuguev settlement), two MLRS multiple rocket launchers manufactured in the USA were found. The Iskander-M missile launch system launched a missile attack on a missile position of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as a result of which two MLRS launchers with ammunition, as well as combat crew personnel (up to 10 people), were destroyed,” the Russian military department said.
The message was accompanied with footage from thermal imaging from a drone. However, as the Z-bloggers noticed, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation posted a new video, using footage from last year attack on Sumy region.
“You can make mistakes, but you have to lie! The video released by the Russian Defense Ministry in the morning of the destruction of ATACMS missile launchers launched at Voronezh is identical to the footage of the Iskander-M missile defense system strike on the M270 MLRS in the village of Rudnevka, Sumy region, which was published by the military department on September 5, 2024. The old footage was slightly zoomed in and cropped to make the footage of the strike from more than a year ago from Sumy region look like new ones. It’s a shame!” wrote Z-blogger Alex Parker.
On November 18, Voronezh was attacked by Ukraine. Local residents and z-channels wrote that ballistic missiles could have been used in the attack. Later that day, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced an ATACMS missile strike on the Russian territory, but did not name specific targets.
