Omsk residents shared information in the online map comments about the selection point for contracts at the education center

Several media outlets previously reported that residents of Omsk are being abducted from the streets and sent to the Sirius‑55 recruitment center, where they are beaten and forced to sign a contract. This was based on comments from 2GIS map users and a post by the Omsk Civil Association.

The comments under the address 8th Maryanovskaya Street, 1a date back to May – October 2026. The center for additional education of the Omsk region is located there. This same address appears in advertisements for recruitment for contract service. Messages on the 2GIS map stated that this is where those who are detained for the purpose of forcibly sending them to war are taken.

ASTRA contacted the author of the comment, who had previously spoken about his father, who had visited the address 8th Maryanovskaya Street, 1a.

“They didn’t give my father time to sort everything out, vacation, benefits. He signed the contract and was taken away a couple of hours later,” his comment reads.

The interlocutor explained that his father had gone to the recruitment office to sign a contract voluntarily.

“My father went there in the spring. He went on his own. He’s not in touch right now.” The last time he was in Moscow, he said everything was fine with him. I don’t know anything about other people who have been there. I haven’t come across any stories about people being picked up on the street, the ASTRA interlocutor said. “With my comment, I wanted to warn others that they need to prepare in advance. Get the documents in order, go to the bank. Dad didn’t have time to apply for tax holidays. He came, and they immediately sent him on his way,” the author of the comment said and declined to continue the conversation.

Currently, most comments on the 2GIS map under this object are marked as “reviews without a confirmed visit” and also as “temporarily hidden due to anomalous activity.” Some of the comments that were previously cited in the media have been deleted. Some users are leaving these comments for the first time.

The social media accounts of the Sirius‑55 institution, among other things, publish photos of children in military uniforms who are allegedly studying at this address in the research laboratory “Cossack Cadet Boarding School named after Marshal of the Soviet Union D.T. Yazov.”
