The commander of the stormtroopers from Storm Z found himself in a cell for refuseniks near St. Petersburg after recording a video for his subordinates’ loved ones: he is beaten at night and threatened to be dealt with

ASTRA found out where the commander of the former penal guards, convicts and mobilized from the “Storm” of the 138th brigade, a resident of Kursk, Yevgeny Zarubin, is being held. Earlier it became known that he was beaten, put in a pit and then taken out with a bag on his head to an unknown direction — the command decided to punish him for the video made for his subordinates, which went online.

According to Zarubin’s former colleagues, he is being held in an isolation ward in the village of Kamenka in the Leningrad region. The commander of the ex-prisoners, they claim, is beaten at night, and is also threatened to “be taken to the front and dealt with.”

In Kamenka, where the 138th separate motorized Rifle brigade is based, Zarubin is held in special conditions — alone in an isolation ward.
In mid-July, unknown people leaked a video online in which Zarubin emotionally talks about the losses during the assault on Volchansk (Kharkiv region).

“Out of 46 people, I brought out 30, many brothers died. I’m sorry who I didn’t save,” Zarubin said in the video.

After the video went online, the command demanded that Zarubin record a rebuttal. At the end of July, Zarubin (his call sign is “Kursai”) and his colleague were declared to have left the unit without permission. An orientation with his data was posted in Kursk and in the Kursk region.

According to the ASTRA source, after the detention the military was beaten, placed in a pit and threatened to be sent “to the tribunal.” Then both of them were taken to an unknown destination with bags on their heads. According to preliminary information, the “Wind” could have already died in the assault. Before that, he was beaten up. According to the source, a military man with the call sign “Intelligence” took part in this.

Earlier, ASTRA wrote that more than 150 refuseniks were taken out of the military unit in Kamenka near St. Petersburg. The men were put in buses, then sent by plane to a military training ground near Kursk, and from there to Belgorod. About 37 soldiers managed to escape, then they were detained again. During a repeated attempt to escape, the husband of the ASTRA interlocutor was hit with a stun gun, another military man was chained to a pole. As a result, all those who escaped were put in military “Urals” and taken to an unknown destination.
