“They beat me at night, and in such a way that there were no bruises left”

Citizen of the Omsk region signed a contract in the “DPR”, faced extortion and beatings from the command, was locked up on the territory of a former shoe factory in Makeyevka and now cannot return home to Russia.

41-year-old Mikhail (name changed) shortly before the full-scale war moved from the Omsk region to the “DPR”, and then signed a contract and was enlisted in the 110th separate Guards brigade (m/u 08826), now — m/u 34495.

“I signed a contract for a year, but they didn’t even give me a copy of the contract,” Mikhail recalls.

Almost immediately after signing the contract, extortion began on the part of the command, the man claims.

“At first they wanted me to buy a car for the needs of the unit, then they tried to extort a million, then the summ fell to 300 thousand. To go on leave, for example, it was necessary to tone down a car for 17 thousand rubles. And in general, corruption, drug addiction, extortion, beatings and torture flourish on the territory of the battalion. Responsible are: commander Alexander Dyachenko, call sign “Dyak”, senior lieutenant Evgeny, call sign “Donets”, chief of headquarters Captain Yerashov, call sign “Ruff”, battalion commander — call sign “Green”, — says ASTRA Mikhail.

After refusing to pay to the commanders, the soldier was taken to the territory of the temporary deployment of the unit, where the military, according to Mikhail, are being tortured. This place is located in the very center of Makeyevka — on the territory of the former shoe factory “Aspect” on Lenin Street.

“There’s a mattress on the floor, the light bulb is on 24/7, you’re locked up and that’s it. They beat me there at night, and in such a way that there were no bruises left. The company commander beat me all over my body,” the man says.

Then Mikhail was taken to the landfill, where the threats and extortion continued. From where he was able to escape and has been hiding since April so that he would not be caught. The man notes that he “really wants to return home” to the Omsk region, but now the exit from the “DPR” is closed for him.

Mikhail says that the deputy commander of his unit with the call sign “Donets” allegedly uses the labor of military personnel to build his own house. ASTRA was unable to confirm or deny this information from other sources at the time of publication of the material.

The former shoe factory in Makeyevka is already the 19th place for torture and detention of the military in the occupied territories of Ukraine, which ASTRA found. The day before, we told how three servicemen from the 1st Slavic brigade escaped from another torture chamber in Makeyevka — from the territory of the mine automation plant.
