Teenager beaten by drunk policemen in the Moscow region

One of them has already signed an army contract in order to evade responsibility, ASTRA sources say.

As ASTRA found out, in March 2024, in the village of Medvezhye Ozery in the Moscow region, Sergei Trofyanin, a district commissioner of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Shchelkovskoye (pictured), being drunk, approached a 17-year-old boy passing by him. The policeman made a remark to the young man, pushed and grabbed his chest. Next to the employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was his colleague, Andrei Karramov, a district police officer of the same department. He was also intoxicated at the time. Karramov hit the teenager in the jaw, after which the minor fell to the ground. While he was down, Trofyanin kicked him in the head. As a result, the teenager was diagnosed with a closed craniocerebral injury.

According to ASTRA’s sources, a criminal case was subsequently opened against both police officers under Part 2 of Article 112 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Causing moderate harm to health). However, in November, Andrei Karramov, a defendant in the criminal case, signed a contract with the Russian Defense Ministry. Soon the man will go to war with Ukraine, and the criminal case against him will be suspended. ASTRA reached Karramov, but he declined commenting. The Astra journalists also got through to Trofyanin. On the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, he is still listed as a district commissioner in Shchelkovo.

“I don’t work there anymore. I don’t give any comments. About [the beating], ask questions to the one who did it,” Trofyanin told ASTRA.

The beaten young man (now he has already turned 18 years old) and his parents also declined to comment.
