Human rights defender Maxim Davydov detained in Donetsk

According to ASTRA, human rights defender Maxim Davydov was detained by FSB officers on April 10. Davydov himself told ASTRA about this.

Davydov came to the office of the military prosecutor’s office in Donetsk to “verify the legality of the department’s ownership of the building,” he tells ASTRA. He did this on behalf of Alexander Vaskovsky, who was previously the acting chairman of the “Supreme Council of the DPR” (the now-inactive parliament of the self-proclaimed republic, now in the “DPR” the so-called parliament is the “People’s Council of the DPR”, which is not recognized by a number of residents of the region, including Davydov and Vaskovsky).

As a result, two FSB officers were called to the scene, after which Davydov was taken to police station No. 2, where three more officers arrived. There, the staff took away Maxim’s phone and studied it, the human rights activist said.

“At 11 a.m. they brought me to the department and only at 5 p.m. I came out of there, from this regional department. No documents were drawn up. They told me to wait and answer the phone so they wouldn’t look for me. They suspect me of extremism — a classic Russian article. Allegedly, I am discrediting the armed forces of the Russian Federation, the government of the Russian Federation, they were talking all sorts of nonsense,” Davydov told ASTRA.

After his release, Davydov noticed that an unknown iPhone 7 from Vilnius was connected to his telegram account (probably an FSB officer connected to the account using a VPN).
