Russian bomb fell near residential building near Belgorod, injuring three people, including a 13-year-old girl

On August 17, a Russian plane dropped a FAB aerial bomb on the Streletskoye 83 district near Belgorod. According to ASTRA sources in the Ministry of Emergency Situations, an aerial bomb landed on a site on Voevodskaya Street in the area of house 2. The munition did not detonate.

As a result of the “abnormal descent” of the FAB aerial bomb from a Russian plane that day, three people were injured: 46-year-old Natalia Kuchabo, her 13-year-old daughter and 35-year-old Alexey Vorobyov (pictured). All of them got acubarotrauma.

In the footage posted by local residents, an eyewitness says that “it flew right into the basement,” and a funnel of one and a half to two meters formed on the spot. Probably, we are talking about a house under construction.

Governor Gladkov, in his summary of the shelling of the region, reported on the injured 13-year-old girl and her mother, but claimed the UAV attack to be the reason:

“6 drones attacked at the village of Oktyabrsky, the villages of Nechayevka, Streletskoye, Yasnye Zori and the village of Valkovsky, one of which was shot down. Two people were injured: a mother and her 13-year-old daughter. The child continues to be treated at the children’s regional clinical hospital.”

Earlier, Pepel reported on the fall of an aerial bomb on Streletskoye.

Thus, the editorial board of ASTRA is aware of at least 104 aerial bombs (97 fabs and 7 UMPB) and three missiles, fallen from Russian aircraft in Russia and in the occupied territories of Ukraine since the beginning of 2025. In 2024, at least 165 FAB bombs fell on these territories.

As told you earlier, to counter the Ukrainian air defense, the Russian army began equipping Soviet FAB bombs with UMPK complexes. After such an update, wings and satellite guidance appear on the fabs, allowing them to launch bombs directly from the territory of Russia. But due to the imperfection of the system, aerial bombs do not always reach their targets and fall on Russian territories. The Russian authorities are trying to hide such facts, and when civilians are among the victims of the fall of Russian bombs, they report that the reasons are in the attacks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
