Residents of the city raised funds to check the water quality and ordered a state examination at the Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology. This is reported in the chat of the initiative group. The study showed that the water does not meet sanitary requirements. According to the expert report from the accredited laboratory, the water was found to have exceeded several indicators: turbidity was approximately 2.5 times higher, iron content was more than 3 times higher, and manganese content was more than 2 times higher. It was also found that the aluminum content exceeded the norm and that there were increased odour and taste.
The “Right to Water” project notes that the study concerns only a specific sample taken at the specified location and does not rule out the presence of other pollutants that were not included in the analysis.
Residents stated that they would send an expert report to Vodokanal, Rospotrebnadzor, the city administration, the prosecutor’s office, and the State Housing Inspection.
Earlier, the region’s governor stated that the water met sanitary standards and safety requirements, despite deviations in terms of smell. At the same time, he referred to numerous analyses conducted by Rospotrebnadzor and Rosvodokanal.
More than two weeks ago, residents of Tyumen began complaining about water with a putrid smell. At the same time, officials claimed that it met all the standards. People claimed that an environmental disaster was unfolding in the city and demanded an independent water analysis. The authorities organized the supply of water trucks, and huge queues formed in front of them.
