The fact that residents of Moscow began to get up at 5 a.m. for the sake of refueling the car was reported by the official media of the government of the Russian Federation, Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
“I got up at 7:00 today and went to refuel in Nekrasovka, not far from home. I had to stand in a small queue for 40 minutes, but it’s not scary, if I had left later, I could have stood for an hour or even longer,” the newspaper quotes a motorist from the Southern Administrative District.
The auto expert of the publication points out that online resources that track the availability of fuel at specific gas stations are not always updated promptly, and trying to get to where the fuel is does not guarantee the absence of queues, and urges not to buy gasoline for the future.
Mediazone drew attention to the decrease in the number of gas stations operating in Moscow and the Moscow region, analyzing bank data on transactions. So, on August 19, in the Moscow region, 189 gas stations that had been operating at least once 7 days before never sold fuel. There are 53 such gas stations in Moscow. In the first wave of the fuel crisis, Moscow and the Moscow region were leaders in the availability of gasoline in the Russian Federation, the newspaper recalls.
Eyewitnesses record queues on video, they say that gasoline disappears from the gas station after moving away from the MKAD.
“When leaving Moscow, from the MKAD, there was gasoline at Lukoil and Rosneft gas stations. But there are queues of 300-400 cars for 2 hours,” Maxim Artsinovich, a businessman and former adviser on regional affairs in the Presidential Administration, tells his subscribers. — On the way to Yaroslavl, there is no gasoline anywhere at all. In one of the queues in Moscow, which was captured on video by an eyewitness, the men found out the relationship by force. An eyewitness tried to stop the conflicting parties, saying that it was not worth injuring each other because of the queue for gasoline, but when the participant in the conflict went to get a monkey wrench, he left the scene of the incident.
