In the “DPR”, a pregnant paramedic is accused of AWOL due to the fact that she left the unit at 35th week of pregnancy

Irina [name changed], 24 years old, signed a contract to work as a paramedic in the summer of 2023. She serves in military unit 71443 and worked as a paramedic in Donetsk until the end of February. She says that before the service, “she had never provided first aid so quickly.” After that, she was transferred to the infirmary as a nurse — there she “did injections, ivs, bandages.”

The woman continued to work as a nurse until the 30th week of pregnancy, when she wrote a report on maternity leave and, according to her, provided all the necessary certificates. But in violation of regulations, Irina was refused her leave:

“At week 35, I left on my own and after that they submitted me to the AWOL [to the list of military personnel who arbitrarily left a part] and stopped paying me. In July, I received 10 thousand  [the editorial office has confirmation] and that’s it, although I have a maternity leave open. In the unit, they shrug their hands at that,” the girl says.

Pregnancy confirmation and Irina’s due date

Irina is now approaching the 40th week of pregnancy and childbirth, but she has not been provided with a vacation list. According to her, during her entire service, she has never been on vacation at all — and has never received vacation payments. The information presented by the girl was confirmed by a lawyer working under her power of attorney.
