Residents of a dormitory in Volgograd en masse record appeals to Putin and the head of the region with complaints about the conditions in which they have to live in a hostel on Bystrova Street, 84.
“Dear rulers! Vladimir Vladimirovich, Andrey Ivanovich. Please pay [attention]. You’re doing well. <…> I want to show you my home, where I have been living for 31 years. <…> Look, this is our main entrance. The visor will fall on our heads, if not today, then tomorrow.” says one of the residents of the hostel.
“The wall on the toilet side is in this condition. It’s scary to go to the toilet, thinking that you will fall out with the toilet. <…> It gets worse and worse every day,” adds another resident.
“Every time we go to the toilet or bathroom, we are afraid that the ceiling will collapse on us. <…> The pipes are completely unusable. Pregnant girls, children, and pensioners live here. It’s just terrible. We urge you to pay attention to our situation!” the residents demand.
According to the residents of the hostel, the building was declared an emergency back in 2021. Residents have been queuing for resettlement all this time and continued to live in such conditions. By the decision of the court of the Central District of Volgograd dated March 12, 2024, it was established to resettle the residents of the hostel until December 31, 2024.
