Relatives of one of the missing received the personal belongings and found an audio recording of beatings and torture on his phone. One of the wives shared it with ASTRA.
According to her, the audio was recorded in May 2024. Who exactly is shouting at the audio and why he is being beaten remains unknown.
In the audio recording published by ASTRA, the man is probably being electrocuted using an army phone. This was told by one of the military men who served under the leadership of “Cap” — Alexey Korchagin, commander of the 1st motorized rifle battalion of the 123rd brigade of military unit 40463. He recognized his voice on the audio recording.
Along with the audio in the phone, the relatives claim that they found a correspondence in Telegram in which the man who screams at the video writes that he is “with Cap and Gold” and that the interlocutor “must not write to him” because he is being electrocuted. He also sent a video message and showed that he had blood on his head.
According to a colleague, Korchagin is “a real sadist.” He is the commander of the assault units in the 123rd brigade.
“Maybe he’s the best at forcing [to attack]. But “Tashkent” [the deceased brigade commander Denis Ivanov] trusted him, and “Kashtan” [the current head of the brigade] trusted him. He became a commander himself after Tashkent’s death,” he said. — The direction was very difficult and a lot of people died. Those were led by the Cap himself, although all 4 battalions participated.”
The interlocutor assumes that the recording shows electrocution. Moreover, the unknown man, according to him, is being tortured with a military phone, in Russian military jargon — “tapik”. It is used to transmit particularly important information at the front.

Before that, ASTRA talked about those who went missing in the Lugansk military unit 40463, before they could arrive there. Relatives of the missing military said that servicemen go missing en masse just a few days after arrival.
Among those listed there were prisoners from the Volgograd colonies. According to relatives, 102 of the 108 prisoners were missing.
The relatives of the missing are not given any information, and most of the applicants don’t have proof that their relatives are missing. At the same time, some women claim that their husbands and sons were sent to unit 40463 either illegally or as a “punishment”. To most women, unnamed representatives of the unit, hiding under nicknames in the telegram, respond that their loved ones stopped contacting after the drone attack. One of the relatives, when asked how the man disappeared, was told that he might have “stayed to drink tea in a nearby dugout,” and when asked to evacuate, they even replied that she could pull the fighter out on her own.
