ASTRA found out the details of a missile attack on the night of December 10-11 at a military airfield in Taganrog, Rostov region. On December 11, 26 servicemen were hospitalized after rocket attacks, one died on the spot.

Residents of Taganrog reported numerous explosions around 4:20 a.m. on December 11. The explosions were caught on video. The governor confirmed the attack, but said that no one was injured. The mayor reported damage to the boiler room, which is located on the territory of the aircraft repair plant, as ASTRA later found out. 27 apartment buildings were left without heat, but the heat supply was resumed on the same day. Residents complained en masse that many shelters were closed during the attack.

As a result of the attack, in addition to the aircraft repair plant, the military unit where the 5th aviation group was damaged. Two sources told ASTRA that another target of the APU attack was a military facility at Teatralnaya.

“I’m talking based on the fact that a stove is visible in a large room (in the video). I know this room. Then they have a long corridor. But only on the basis of this room — it was a large communal kitchen. And the building is white brick, five storeys high. This is a hotel building, civilians lived there two years ago, but they were evicted and contractors were settled there as a place to transfer personnel. There are no civilians there now,” the source told ASTRA.

According to him, ambulances and cars were passing from the military unit in the morning, presumably with evacuees and wounded, and access to the entire territory of the military camp was closed.

Earlier, ASTRA found out that the target of the night attack on Taganrog was the aircraft repair plant of “JSC 325 ARZ”. Several medical workers, whose identities ASTRA confirmed, wrote online about the wounded. The Ministry of Defense also told about the presence of wounded soldiers.

UPD: The total number of wounded as a result of the missile attack is 41 people, another soldier was killed, ASTRA found out.
