Three fuel tanks damaged after UAV attack on Voronezh oil depot

An oil depot in Liski, Voronezh Region, was attacked last night as a result of a UAV attack. According to ASTRA’s sources in the emergency services of the region, it is the “Voronezhnefteprodukt” facility in the area of the Staraya Pokrovka farm in the Liskinsky district.

In total, seven drones tried to attack the base, according to ASTRA. Two of them got into a tank with diesel fuel with a volume of 10 thousand cubic meters, another one got into a tank with gasoline with a volume of 5 thousand cubic meters. The drones exploded, and a fire started. Subsequently, the fire spread to another tank with gasoline. As a result, the fire area was 1000 sq.m.

The staff of the Ministry of Emergency Situations could not start extinguishing the fire in time due to the danger of subsequent attacks by UAVs.

The oil depot is still burning, local residents report. Due to the fire, traffic was blocked on the Liski – Davydovka – Kopanishche road section (0-5 km). Two fire fighting trains and additional forces from neighboring regions had to be deployed to eliminate the fire earlier.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the strike on the facility. The tank farm was used to store fuel used by the Russian army, according to the department.
