The wife of a deceased serviceman from the notorious unit 40463 of the 123rd brigade of the “LPR”, in which soldiers are tortured and “reset”, and disappear without a trace before they arrive there, told ASTRA that her husband was declared dead 4 days before his real death.
Mikhail [name changed, — note. ASTRA] was sent as a stormtrooper to the 1st battalion as punishment for “unauthorized abandonment of the unit”. In April 2024, after being injured, the man was in the hospital and refused to pass the military medical examination. He had to go home for a week because his child was in intensive care. After that, he himself came to the commandant’s office, from where the military police took him away — despite the fact that he walked on crutches — and sent him to the 1st battalion under the command of “Cap” (Alexei Korchagin).
The last time Mikhail’s wife contacted him was on June 18. She found out about his death on August 3, when a medic from his unit called her and asked “where to take him [body].” Along with the body of the deceased, she received his phone, in which she found unsent messages.
It turned out that at the end of June, Mikhail was sent to the assault, in which he lost a finger. She also found photos of the rotting hand on her phone.
“I came back, they bit the shit out of me, they electrocuted me all night and sent me back to the assault,” the message dated June 23 says.
The next day, the man writes that he is lying in some kind of “hole”, that he has lost a lot of blood and that his “liver is gone.”

On June 26, Mikhail wrote that maggots were already crawling in his hand, and that if he did get out, his hand would have to be cut off.
In July, the man cut off his own rotting finger.
The death certificate, which Mikhail’s wife received, indicates the date of death — July 22. According to reports, the man was alive at least until July 26. The widow claims that in the last video he recorded for her, the half-dead soldier says that he crawled back half the way. The man was never evacuated and no help was provided.
“Initially, they considered him to be “missing” on June 24. That is, they sent him back with his hand. I found out about it on July 4th. I was told to donate DNA, to write for a compensation. And on August 3, a medic called and asked, “where to take it” [the body]? At the same time, I was sent a paper from the unit stating that on August 2, his group was fighting and he was found near some position. And on August 3, I was already in the morgue,” Mikhail’s wife told ASTRA.
The widow has two children, one of whom is disabled.
Earlier, ASTRA wrote that relatives of one of the missing servicemen from Lugansk unit 40463 received personal belongings of the missing man and found an audio recording of beatings and torture in the phone, presumably using an army phone. Along with the audio in the phone, the relatives claim that they found a Telegram message in which the man who is shouting at the video says that he is “with Cap and Gold”.
