Pipeline, oil processing plant at the refinery and port attacked during UAV attack

On February 26, drones attacked the Tuapse oil refinery, ASTRA found out.

Two drones fell on the territory of the enterprise. As a result, part of the ELOU-VT-12 oil refining unit was damaged As well as the crude oil pipeline. According to ASTRA, oil spilled over an area of 5 square meters.m.

In addition, as a result of the air defense work, two private houses on Krasnodarskaya Street were damaged, and a car burned down. Local residents reported, among other things, an attack on the seaport, which is located 3 km from the attacked refinery.

ASTRA managed to geolocate one of the videos from the site of the drone attacks on the night of February 26 in Tuapse, Krasnodar Territory. The video shows “fireworks” — this is a secondary detonation, typical of a warehouse of explosives and ammunition. The camera angle is directed towards the seaport. ASTRA found that the house on the right in the video is located at 12 Kalinina Street. It is about 370 meters from the seaport.

Earlier, the attack on the port of Tuapse was reported by local residents. Ukrainian official sources are already notifying about the attack on the seaport. This was announced by the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, Andrei Kovalenko.

“The port plays an important role in supporting military logistics. It is used to transport equipment, ammunition and fuel for military needs. It provides logistical support for ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, in particular those involved in the war against Ukraine,” he said.

The latter may be a logical explanation for secondary detonation.

The seaport of Tuapse accepts vessels with a draft of up to 15 meters, a length of up to 250 meters and a width of up to 45 meters. It has grain and oil terminals. The port has resources to replenish fuel, food, fresh water, receive wastewater and oily water, all categories of garbage, as well as repair equipment and diving inspection of the vessel.

It is a logistics hub that is connected to the railway network, which allows the transportation of goods from the central and southern regions of Russia.

At the same time, warships are regularly stationed in the port of Tuapse. Thus, on November 29, 2024, according to the Crimean Wind channel, the warship Pyotr Morgunov was attacked in the port of Tuapse. Since the beginning of the year, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have attacked at least 28 fuel and energy facilities in 16 regions of the Russian Federation. Some of them were attacked several times, for example, the Ryazan Oil Refinery (three times).
