ASTRA was contacted by military personnel who are being held in military unit 02030 in the village of Leonidovka, Penza region, and their relatives.
According to the wife of 39-year-old Alexei (name changed), her husband is being held in the unit as deserter, despite three concussions — the medical commission did not consider them to be injuries. At the same time, she notes that Alexei began to have vision problems and severe headaches.
“My husband is not given either an investigator or a military medical commission, referring to the fact that if a criminal case is opened, the investigation will continue upon arrival home. They are currently in Leonidovka at a transshipment point. It is unclear when they will be sent to the storm, it is unclear where. But they say that it will be immediate death,” the woman says.
Egor (name changed), 24, is in a similar situation. He fled from military unit 40318 in the territory of the “LPR” — according to his family, because of threats and lawlessness of the command. Egor was diagnosed with concussion, as well as PTSD.

“He was a contract serviceman. Due to the fact that lawlessness began on the front line there — money was extorted, they did not provide proper treatment after combat missions — he decided that he had to run, otherwise he would not have survived there. He has already been caught here, and is now in the village of Leonidovka. That is, neither a commission is appointed, nor any investigation is conducted. A criminal case has been opened against him under the article on the unauthorized abandonment of a unit,” said his wife.
ASTRA also managed to contact Igor’s mother. The woman also submitted a request to the military prosecutor’s office today. They promised to resolve the situation there.
“As it has now become clear, those who have been investigated are being sent to Samara to the Military Industrial Complex. And no criminal case has been opened against anyone, it is not known what will happen next,” the mother of the serviceman shared the results of the conversation with the military prosecutor’s office.
According to the military personnel who are in Leonidovka, they are threatened to be sent to other units “to be killed” tomorrow.
“The conditions are worse than prison, the convoy, ragged beds, there is not enough food for everyone, you can not go outside. People are cutting themselves here. Two escaped. Tomorrow we will be sent to die, that’s for sure,” Kozlov wrote in an interview with an ASTRA journalist.
The village of Leonidovka is located about 10 km east of Penza itself. The official population is 8 people. According to information from open sources, the 297th Guards anti-aircraft Missile Brigade, an anti—aircraft missile defense unit of the Russian Ground Forces, is stationed in military unit 02030.
