ASTRA publishes footage of the aftermath of the drone attack and video analysis from the site of the strike on the barracks of the missile brigade.
The fact that the photo shows the consequences of the attack on the building of the 112th Guards Missile Brigade in Shuya is confirmed by footage from the regional “Draftee of the Year” contest held at the base of military unit No. 03333. Footage from the contest, which was published by local media, shows a red brick building hit during today’s attack, according to an analysis by ASTRA.
According to FIRMS, after the UAV attack, two fires were observed on the territory of military unit 03333 (112th Guards Missile Brigade), ASTRA noted.
ASTRA analyzed two videos from the scene of today’s UAV attack in Shuya, Ivanovo region. The first video was taken from the address: Cooperativnaya Street, 4. This is about 170 meters from the location of the 112th Guards Missile Brigade (military unit 03333), according to map analysis. At the same time, the drone explodes a little further behind the trees. It is impossible to determine from this video whether the territory of the military unit has been damaged.
The second video was shot at General Belov Street, 6, noted by ASTRA. This street is now blocked by “heavy machinery” after the drone attack, the city administration said earlier and asked residents not to go outside. This place is located less than a kilometer from the brigade’s military camp, according to an analysis by ASTRA.
Officially, the local authorities did not confirm the UAV attack on the military unit, saying only that “the consequences of the attack are being eliminated.” Two injured people were also reported. The Russian Defense Ministry reported 7 UAVs shot down in the Ivanovo region. At the same time, local residents reported from the very beginning that the attack was aimed at a military town where the 112th Guards missile brigade was stationed. They also claim that at around 3 a.m. on April 16, Shuya was attacked.
According to open data, the 112th Guards Missile Brigade (military unit 03333) is stationed in the Southern town of Shuya. It is armed with Iskander-M tactical missile systems. The unit is part of the 1st Guards Tank Army of the Moscow Military District.
It was the 112th Guards Missile Brigade that was blamed by Ukraine for the April 13, 2025 attack on Sumy. As a result of the attack, 35 people were killed. The head of the GUR wrote that the 112th Missile Brigade and the 448th Missile Brigade had hit Sumy with two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles.
In January 2025, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine stated that on January 3, an explosion allegedly occurred in Shuya, Ivanovo region, in which the battery commander of the 112th missile Brigade of the 1st Tank Army of the Western Military District, 30-year-old Konstantin Nagayko, was injured. He was allegedly on duty in a military unit. As a result of the explosion, Nagaiko suffered serious injuries, in particular, brain damage, and the captain was in critical condition. In February, the GUR reported that Nagaiko had died. On October 5, 2023, the Russian army launched a missile attack on a cafe in the Kharkov village of Groza during a wake, killing 59 people. The GUR claims that Nagayko was involved in this shelling.
