Russian soldier shot a family with children in the Kursk region. Mother dead, the father injured, children saved.

On the morning of April 30, residents of the district reported soldier killing a civilian in the village of Giryi in the Belovsky district of the Kursk region.

Later, Ilya Larin, the eldest son of 41-year-old Olesya Larina, confirmed the murder of her mother in a conversation with an ASTRA journalist. He said that at the time of the murder, his mother, father and two sisters, girls aged 10 and 6, were in the house. A soldier broke into their house with a weapon at about 12 a.m. on April 30, demanded to “show documents” and opened fire.

“He broke into the house and immediately started shooting. Father tried to take the girls away, so he shot him in the head. My father is in an induced coma right now. The sisters were not injured, they called me at one o’clock in the morning, I was in Kursk and arrived right away. I’ve already picked up the sisters. There’s blood in the house, the door and windows are shot through. These are military personnel there. He put the girls in the car, my friend Alexander tried to save them, so the military started shooting at him,” the victim’s son told ASTRA.

The soldier also tried to kidnap the two young daughters of the civilian he killed by car. This was reported to ASTRA by Alexander Zuev, who was the first to arrive at the crime scene and tried to save the children.

“Ilya [the victim’s son] called me at 15 minutes to one in the morning and was crying, saying, ‘Please come to my house. The younger sisters called me, someone killed my mother, please go and get the sisters so they can be with you.” I got dressed, got in the car and drove off. I drove up to their house, left the car on and went. Because at first I thought maybe the girls had made it all up, maybe it was just a scandal at home. I went into their yard, and their outhouse was all smashed up. I already became a little wary. I went further into the first room, and immediately saw the blood. There’s a lot of blood and footprints. He walked with his shoes off. Then I went into the next room, and there’s a lot of blood, too, just an insane amount of blood. And I see Olesya lying dead, I saw her in their farthest bedroom. She was lying in a semi-sitting state, her head was lowered. I called the girls. And then I hear the girls reply, “Uncle, uncle, quiet, quiet, quiet.” And at that moment, right from the room where Olesya’s body was lying, a machine gun looked at me and started shooting at me. I barely got out of the house. It’s a good thing they have a room a little sideways. If the door had been straight, you probably wouldn’t have anyone to talk to right now. I ran to the neighbors, asked them to call the police, and then the military police arrived about 20 minutes later. Then the military medics arrived and they said that the criminal had been disarmed. It turns out that he got into my car while it was parked under their yard. I got into this car and, it turns out, he put the girls there. I do not know for what purpose he did it. And he went with the girls towards the vocational school. Military medics detained him there,” Alexander told ASTRA.

Zuev added that after his arrest he saw the killer — he was in a military uniform of the Russian Armed Forces, he looked about 40 years old. His identity is unknown to him.

He added that the soldier had been detained. “The police said he was either on drugs or something else,” adds Ilya. The identity of the killer is unknown to him.

Local residents complain in the chat that the military often behave aggressively and are drunk in public places. “They’re drinking so much that they’re not themselves, how many of them have I met,” one user writes.

“Our military bothers me more than the shelling,” adds another local resident.
