Previously convicted Russian serviceman stabbed in the neck and attempted to rob elderly woman.

The woman was hospitalized with wounds to her neck, arms and ears.

As ASTRA found out, on May 19, an unknown person knocked on the apartment of 69-year-old Galina Arkatova in Kemerovo. When the woman asked: “Who’s there?” a man’s voice asked for “a cup of water.” Galina opened the door and was immediately stabbed in the neck. The woman fought with the criminal and managed to fight him back. As a result, Galina was hospitalized with multiple stab wounds on her neck, arms, palms and ears. The attacker fled.

Later, the man was detained — he turned out to be 42-year-old Alexander Kuchkin, a previously convicted Russian serviceman in military unit 21005, ASTRA found out. Kuchkin was previously convicted of murder, theft, robbery and drugs. From the colony, he enlisted in the war in Ukraine, first as part of the Wagner company, then was wounded. And in the summer of 2024, he has already signed a new contract, this time with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. He came to Kemerovo on vacation.

The woman who was attacked by a military man also had a through-the-ear wound.
