On May 19, in the village of Shchuchye Ozero (Perm region), a Lada Priora was found in a pond, with the corpse of 41-year-old local resident Evgeny (pictured) inside. Initially, rescuers thought that the man had died in an accident, but later it turned out that he had died from multiple head injuries that he had received the day before.

Before that, Evgeny had been drinking with two friends, Alexei P., and Maxim Solovyov, a 30-year-old war veteran. Solovyov’s wife was also present. At some point, Solovyov became jealous of Evgeny’s wife, and a fight broke out between them, during which the soldier hit him hard on the head several times, fracturing his skull. Then Solovyov got into the car and drove home.
The third man there, Alexey, tried to take Evgeny out in his car, but lost control and drove it into a pond. Apparently, he left the victim there.

According to ASTRA, the cause of Evgeny’s death was damage to the left temporal lobe of the brain due to severe traumatic brain injury. The man had a wife and two small children.
Solovyov was detained. According to local sources, he had been on vacation in his native village since the beginning of May. A criminal case has been opened against him for causing serious harm to health, which negligently resulted in the death of the victim.
Maxim Solovyov signed a contract with the Russian Defense Ministry in October 2024, a few months after he was convicted of arson. Solovyov went to prison for the first time at the age of 17, when he broke into a rural store with unknown people and stole goods worth 6 thousand rubles. In 2012, he stole a hunting rifle, and in 2016, a washing machine. Then he got a criminal record for threatening to kill an acquaintance with a knife. In 2017, he took the TV out of the woman’s apartment. In 2022, he stole a phone.
