Evgeny Pak (call sign “Pak”), a serviceman of the 5th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade named after A. Zakharchenko of military unit 41698, contacted ASTRA and said on video that their brigade commander Ramil Faskhutdinov, with the call sign “Mamai”, was sending into the battle disabled soldiers. According to him, the video with the rebuttal of this fact from his wounded colleagues was published on the channel of Z-propagandist Vladimir Solovyov. Commander Mamai made them record it. In case of disobedience, he threatened military criminal cases.
“The same “Kaban” who shot the video from these four contacted me and explained the following — he was afraid for his life, they came for him (the people who were sent by “Mamai”) and they forced them (the wounded) to record a video rebuttal,” said the commander of the assault group.
Pak also stated that the 40 military personnel who participated in the recording of the initial video complaining about the command are ready to testify to the Investigative Committee and the Military Prosecutor’s Office. According to the serviceman, they are all in touch with him, “except for the disabled”.
Pak also mentioned a certain commander with the call sign “Greek” and said that he had “a lot of ruined lives” behind him. There are military personnel who are ready to testify against him too, Pak added.
He later told ASTRA that he had already submitted an application to the Investigative Committee and the Military Prosecutor’s Office, and 20 more people had signed up for it, mostly relatives of military personnel from the 5th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade. A corresponding appeal was also sent to the President’s office.
ASTRA has already contacted the commander of the assault group, Yevgeny Pak, and he confirmed that the video message of the military from the 5th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade named after A. Zakharchenko of military unit 41698, in which they complain about the atrocities of the command, is not staged, as claimed by Z-propagandist Vladimir Solovyov. In addition, Pak said that he was at large, although the same Solovyov reported that a criminal case had been opened against Pak and other military personnel from the video under Part 3 of art. 333 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (resisting a superior with the use of weapons by a group of persons by prior agreement under martial law).
ASTRA published an investigation into the torture of Russian military commanders of the 5th and 110th brigades. According to the interlocutors, the commanders set up a real “concentration camp” on the territory of the abandoned Petrovsky mine in Donetsk. It was there that the military from the 5th Brigade tortured the American “military correspondent” Russell Bentley before his death. Men who refused to fight were tortured there, and then they were forced to go on deadly assaults.
