“We hope that our son is alive”

As a result of a strike on the Russian Iskander-M launcher in the Bryansk region 14 servicemen were killed, said Ukrainian journalist Andrei Tsapliyenko.

ASTRA confirmed the death of one of their relatives on social networks, the mother of another serviceman said that she had not yet received any official information about her son’s death, and hoped that “this is a mistake”.

As ASTRA found out earlier, during the attack on Iskander in the Bryansk region, 8 Russian servicemen were killed and 5 wounded. According to ASTRA, the attack was carried out early in the morning on June 5 near the village of Martianovka in the Klintsovsky district of the Bryansk region. The attack was carried out by several missiles.

Later, the Ukrainian journalist Andrey Tsapliyenko reported that, according to him, 14 Russian servicemen were killed in the attack, not 8. He also published a full list of the alleged dead and photos of some of them. It is claimed that 14 servicemen of the 26th Missile Brigade (military unit 54006) were killed. It is reported that on the morning of June 5, they were preparing to strike at the capital of Ukraine.

“Oleg Nysterov, Lieutenant Colonel, commander of the Iskander division; Kirill Nefedov, Captain; Ivan Nerozin, senior Lieutenant; Sergey Lapukhin, Major; Kirill Kulikov, captain; Maxim Lapshin, corporal; Ivan Gavrilov, senior Sergeant; Nikita Kirov, junior Sergeant; Jan Kropotov, Sergeant. Photos could not be found: Daniil Kozlov, ensign; Andrey Andrianov, lieutenant; Alexander Maksimov, lieutenant; Vyacheslav Kozhevnikov, sergeant; Nikolai Smirnov, corporal,” the names on the list of the Ukrainian journalist are listed.

ASTRA confirmed the identities of a number of military personnel from the journalist’s list and called the mother of one of them.

On June 6, a post appeared on the VKontakte social network on the page of a certain Pavel Sukhetsky, who announced the death of “our mutual friend, comrade and colleague,” Oleg Nesterov and published the details of his card for collecting for the funeral.

“Dear friends and colleagues, I am informing you of sad news: our mutual friend, comrade and colleague Oleg Sergeyevich Nysterov died yesterday while fulfilling his duty. In memory of him and helping his family, I am opening a fundraiser,” the publication says. Pavel had not answered the call from the ASTRA journalist by the time of publication.

According to databases leaked online, Oleg Suspicierov lived in the city of Luga in the Leningrad region — the 26th missile brigade is stationed in the same city, to which a Ukrainian journalist attributes him. His wife Olga also lives there. The woman did not answer our journalist’s call.

Another victim on the list is 25-year-old Maxim Lapshin from Perm. ASTRA got through to his mother Natalia. She confirmed that her son was serving under contract (in which unit and in which region she did not know), and disappeared from communication on June 5. However, the woman has not yet confirmed his death.

“The only thing is, an unknown person called my husband, introduced himself as platoon commander Andrei Karpovich, said that they were evacuating, and that Maxim had died a brave death. But, you know, I do not know this man. My son and I last spoke on June 5th. We were talking on the phone and the connection was lost. He didn’t call again, and we haven’t contacted him in any way. We don’t have any official notifications, we haven’t had any more calls, nothing. I started calling this Karpovich back. He’s not answering the phone. Maybe it’s false information, maybe it’s some kind of hoax, I don’t know. I can’t even imagine, I don’t believe, you know? We hope that the son is alive. Now I’m going to the military enlistment office and I’m going to find out everything there,” Lapshin’s mom told ASTRA.

A relative of Ivan Nerozin read the message from the ASTRA journalist, but ignored it.
