Alexey Streltsov, who was mobilized in September 2022 from the village of Obukhovka in the Rostov region, received two serious wounds in the war — hearing damage after a concussion and a broken leg, after which one of Alexey’s legs was 5 centimeters shorter than the other had metal spoke inserted into it.
Despite his serious condition, no military medical commission was conducted, and in July 2024 he was sent back to the front from unit No. 91708 (Rostov-on-Don), although the patient had a referral for surgery to remove a spoke.
“We went to the doctor, he said — we need to continue treatment, rehabilitation is needed. He needed to continue treatment, he did not have any military medical commission at all. Everyone knew it,” says his wife Olesya Streltsova.
In January 2025, shortly after his vacation, Alexei and four other military men were detained for drinking alcohol. He was held in the military commandant’s office of Pervomaisk in the Luhansk region of Ukraine until January 6, after which Alexey was transferred to unit No. 41698, which is located in Makeyevka.
From there, he called his wife and asked for urgent bank details. Voices could be heard nearby, someone was saying, “Just that is enough.” The money from the card did not disappear after that, but soon she received a message that her husband was reported missing.
“It’s been a month since I wrote a request to all 3 units where he was listed during his service to find out what happened to him. But there has been no answer for a month now,” says the wife of the missing serviceman.
Earlier, ASTRA wrote about another serviceman from military unit No. 91708, who blew up a grenade in a residential building in Rostov in 2023. Then he illegally took ammunition from the landfill.
Military unit No. 41698 was also mentioned in the ASTRA materials. One of the servicemen of this unit was sent on the assault with severed fingers and a non-functioning left hand.
