At least two explosions followed by a fire occurred at the Ryazanskaya TPP in Novomichurinsk, Ryazan region, as a result of an UAV attack on November 19. ASTRA OSINT, based on eyewitness videos, recorded two fires at the station and established that the Ryazan TPP was indeed in the footage.
The governor of the Ryazan region, Pavel Malkov, reported on November 19 that a fire broke out on the territory of one enterprise due to falling UAV debris, but did not specify which one. They wrote about the Ryazan GRES in local chat rooms.
Ryazanskaya TPP is a thermal power plant located in Novomichurinsk, Ryazan region, 80 kilometers south of Ryazan. Its installed electric capacity is 3,070 MW, and its thermal capacity is 212.5 Gcal/h. The station has 6 power units, it operates mainly on brown coal and gas. Ryazanskaya TPP belongs to Gazprom’s subsidiary, OGK-2. The station provides energy supply to the central regions of the Russian Federation, including industrial facilities.
