“Dad was killed by Russian military”

These are ASTRA materials about the killings of civilians by the Russian Armed Forces in Buchi, Kiev region, in 2022.

As previously reported, on October 24, law enforcement officers from the Investigative Committee, the FSB and the Interior Ministry came to the home of Anastasia Chumakova, the editor-in-chief and founder of the ASTRA publication, in Ulyanovsk. The search was conducted as part of a criminal case on military “fakes” in relation to her daughter. Anastasia’s mother was questioned as a witness. Anastasia has not lived in the apartment where the search took place for more than 10 years, and is also not registered there. At the time of the search, it was not known which publication caused the criminal prosecution of Chumakova.

It turned out from the case file that the reason for the initiation of a criminal case under Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation against Anastasia was her reposts to her personal channel of ASTRA publications on the war crimes of the Russian Armed Forces in Bucha, Kiev region in 2022. In particular, we are talking about interviews with relatives of civilians killed by the Russian military (in the screenshots). The final charge in the case has not yet been filed, and these publications have been sent for psychological and linguistic examination.

In 2022, ASTRA wrote how 14-year-old Yura Nechiporenko testified about how a Russian soldier shot his father in front of his eyes in the town of Bucha near Kiev.

At the same time, ASTRA told how on March 4, 2022, in Bucha, the Russian military shot a car in which three volunteers were traveling — Anastasia Yalanskaya, Maxim Kuzmenko and Sergey Ustimenko. Young people delivered food to people in the most dangerous areas of Ukraine, brought food to abandoned animals. But they never returned from this trip to Bucha.

ASTRA also wrote how a Bucha resident spent two weeks in 2022 in the occupied city, and told ASTRA what he had heard and seen personally. For the first time, a Bucha resident provided ASTRA with video evidence of looting in the city.

Earlier, the founder and editor-in-chief of ASTRA, Anastasia Chumakova, was registered the list of “extremists and terrorists” and declared wanted.

Prior to that, the editor-in-chief of ASTRA was fined for 35 thousand rubles for failure to report himself as the head of the media, recognized as a “foreign agent”.
