“I signed the contract lying on the floor of the train, one was holding my legs, and the other was twisting my arms”

The parents of 9 conscripts from Khakassia, Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk regions signed a collective complaint to the prosecutor’s office. The text is at the disposal of ASTRA. According to relatives, on the train while their sons were being sent to their duty stations in Primorsky Krai (military unit 21634 in Ussuriysk and military unit 16871 in Sibirtsevo) two sergeants and an officer forced conscripts to sign a contract, exerting moral and physical pressure. Parents also posted video messages from their children.

One of the conscripts, Artyom Shushakov, was forced to do push-ups and squats with a high fever. Another conscript, Ivan Morozov, signed the contract lying on the floor of the train, while one “agitator” twisted his arm and the other held his legs. Those who refused to sign a contract were not given water and were not allowed to leave the train carriage, the complaint says.

Natalia, the mother of another soldier, Semyon Sergeev, told ASTRA that her son was also forced to sign a contract, but they did not show him the text he signed and did not give him any documents.

“You’re not a man, you want your mother to take a helmet and a bulletproof vest, and you woyld be lying around somewhere,” according to Natalia, the “agitators” humiliated Semyon.

According to her, military personnel also called the mothers of some conscripts and forced them to persuade their sons to sign a contract. She added that out of 500 people in the train, about 150 were persuaded. At the same time, most of them were drafted just a month ago, in December 2025.

The soldiers stated that Junior Lieutenant Artyom Kharitonov had exerted pressure on them.

“In fact, a system of moral suppression was built, including constant psychological pressure, shouting, threats, humiliation, rude and obscene conversations, getting up in the middle of the night during lights out, when deliberately woken up for pressure, conversations and “explanations”, depriving the of sleep; creating an atmosphere of constant fear for health and safety,” — the relatives stated in the complaint.

The parents demanded that sergeants and Lieutenant Kharitonov be held accountable, as well as that the contracts signed under duress be declared invalid.

In addition to Artyom Shushakov, Semyon Sergeev and Ivan Morozov, the complaints were signed by the parents of six other conscripts — Viktor Dementiev, Lev Isoev, Kirill Pletnev, Umidjon Avezov, Ruslanbek Baratdinov and Alexander Sarazhakov.

At the same time, the document refers to the same Primorsky part — military unit 21634 — where, according to local lawyer Maxim Chikhunov, the military is tortured and raped, extorting money from them and threatening to “reset.”

It is known about military unit 16871 that in 2024, Lieutenant Alexander Yemelyanov shot and killed 19-year-old conscript Artem Antonov. The court subsequently dismissed the case against Yemelyanov — he went to war. Before that, ASTRA wrote how the employees of this military unit lured marginals to war, fictitiously married them, made payments for themselves and tried to transfer them to stormtroopers so that they would die faster.
