The pro-war blogger Maxim Kalashnikov estimated the number of dead and wounded Russian soldiers at 900,000. Kalashnikov relies on Dmitry Medvedev’s statements about the contract soldiers recruited during the 3 years of the war.
If we believe Medvedev’s words, then in 2023-2025, 300, 320 and 340 thousand people each signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. Kalashnikov added to this number 300,000 mobilized and 200,000 military personnel who participated in the very beginning of Putin’s “special operation”, and received a figure of 1,460,000 troops.
Based on the officials’ statement that there are 750,000 troops on the Ukrainian front, Kalashnikov believes that this difference of 900,000 people is the “price of war.”
In addition, Strelkov’s colleague questioned whether strikes against Ukraine’s energy sector aimed at the suffering of civilians would help Russia win. At the same time, according to him, “the war has already dragged on very dangerously.”
“All time limits have been selected. The strength of the economy has also been chosen, it is cracking dangerously. Now the Russian Federation needs to win quickly in order to cope with all these challenges. But are we winning?” asks Kalashnikov.
