ASTRA subscribers reported that Bauman Moscow State Technical University and St. Petersburg State Technical University convince lagging students to leave their studies, sign a contract and go to war in Ukraine.
“We are not given academic leave, we are not allowed to transfer to another university, and exams have been tightened. The rector’s office does its best to send its students to serve under contract. The Dean’s office has shortened the deadline for debt repayment, whereas previously 1-3 months were allocated for this, now they have given a little less than two weeks, most likely in order for as many people as possible to leave for the commission. If the commission is not passed, you should be expelled,” student told ASTRA.
In addition, as another student of the same university told ASTRA, today, on Thursday, all students who had more than two debts gathered at the congress center and campaigned to sign a contract.
A lecturer at St. Petersburg State University, LETI, told ASTRA that their university is also “campaigning in full swing.”
“The focus, first of all, is on those with “tails” (session debts) and the risk of deduction. Such students are offered to take an academic degree and go to “SVO” for a year. Naturally, after the “SVO” they promise not to expel them, because “we cannot expel someone who defended us, our homeland, our land,” the teacher told ASTRA.
