Attacked oil depot at Tikhoretsky oil hub burns in Krasnodar Region

On the night of March 12, residents of Tikhoretsk, Krasnodar Territory, reported a large number of explosions and a subsequent fire in the city. According to ASTRA’s analysis of eyewitness footage, tanks at a local oil depot caught fire. The video was shot from the highway R-217 Kavkaz.

“The footage shows two sources of ignition. There is open burning in front of a large tank (perhaps the tank itself is starting to burn), and smoke is billowing powerfully in the background, probably fuel tanks are burning,” the ASTRA analyst believes.

The burning oil depot is the site of the Chernomortransneft JSC system in the Tikhoretsky junction. The Tikhoretskaya oil depot is also connected to the Tikhoretskaya oil depot, which is located there. The functions of LLC Tikhoretsk-Nafta have already been integrated into JSC Transneft.‑Terminal (TNT) is a subsidiary of PJSC Transneft, which manages terminal facilities.

Tikhoretsky oil hub is one of the largest oil transshipment points in southern Russia.

The head of the Tikhoretsky district reported: “During the drone attack in Tikhoretsk, a fire broke out at the refinery. Emergency services are on duty at the site. There are no casualties. 83 people and 26 pieces of equipment are involved in extinguishing the fire.”
