Power outages in the north of the annexed Crimea last more than a week

There has been no light for more than a week in some district of northern Crimea, according to State Unitary Enterprise Krymenergo, a company specializing in the supply of Dzhankoy, Armyansk, Krasnoperekopsk as well as Nizhny Novgorod and Pervomaisky districts of Crimea.

Local residents began to collect and deliver humanitarian aid themselves. Crimean blogger Anatoly Sobchak reported on Instagram, what brings users to the northern regions, about instagram, St. Petersburg, water and business products:

“In the northern part of Crimea, there has been no light in many settlements for more than seven days, and people can’t even charge their phones, they don’t have drinking water,” wrote Tsekhin.

Due to communication problems, residents of northern Crimea also send messages to relatives through bus drivers.

Since June 26, a regional emergency regime has been in effect in the annexed Crimea and Sevastopol. The decrees were signed by the Russian-appointed “heads” of the regions, Sergei Aksenov and Mikhail Razvozhaev. Krymenergo explains the disruptions as “technological disruptions caused by external influences” on the peninsula’s power grids.
