Yard kitchens are installed due to power outages in Yalta

In Yalta, amid prolonged power outages, cooking areas are equipped in the courtyards of apartment buildings. First of all, they are installed near houses without gas.

According to head of the administration Sergey Olefirenko, slabs, tables and tents will be placed in the courtyards. Now the “authorities” are compiling lists of houses where such items are needed: in total, we are talking about more than one and a half thousand houses. In addition, the “administration” is negotiating with local entrepreneurs to prepare hot meals for residents at true price — without a trade mark-up. Businesses that join the program are promised support measures and subsidies.

Power outages in Yalta continue amid the energy crisis in Crimea. Due to the lack of electricity in the city, there were also problems with water supply, and earlier the authorities reported a reduction in street lighting and restrictions for some facilities.

Meanwhile, pro-Russian politician Oleg Tsarev wrote about problems with generators in Yalta. According to him, some of the equipment failed due to low-quality gasoline.

“Trouble doesn’t come alone. In the evening [post from July 26], the generators began to stall. We have electricians on duty around the clock, they started sorting it out at night. We found out that it was the gasoline. There is no light, and in addition, because of the bad gasoline, bought for a lot of money, the generators are out of order. And they flooded the 95th. The valves are bent. There is such a deposit on the cylinders that it wedges the valves.”
