Based on the analysis of five geolocated and verified photo and video materials, ASTRA OSINT expert concluded that the AVT-2 primary atmospheric vacuum oil distillation unit at the Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez (PNOS) refinery was probably damaged as a result of the UAV attack.
Earlier, after reports from Perm residents about the explosions and when the air danger sirens were triggered, ASTRA reported that smoke was rising over PNOS.
After the April UAV attack on this refinery, the AFU reported the defeat of the AVT-4 installation, calling it a “key node of primary oil refining.” This installation is located a few hundred meters from the probably damaged AVT-2 today.
The governor of the Perm Region said that as a result of today’s attack, damage was recorded at “one industrial facility”, but there are no casualties there. At the same time, 16 UAVs were shot down during the attack, and one man was wounded by shrapnel.
Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez LLC (PNOS) is one of the largest oil refineries in Russia, located in Perm. The company, part of the Lukoil Group, processes more than 13 million tons of oil per year, producing a wide range of products, including high-quality gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene and lubricating oils. The plant is a key industrial facility in the region and one of the most technologically equipped in the country, providing fuel to both the domestic market and export destinations.
