The Ukrainian Armed Forces shelled the Belgorod region three times in one day using HIMARS


On July 8, the Ukrainian Armed Forces fired three times at the Belgorod Region using the American HIMARS multiple launch rocket system, ASTRA found out. There was no official statement that the region was shelled using HIMARS missiles. Details of the aftermath of the attacks were provided by source in the emergency services.

In the afternoon of July 8, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked Belgorod using HIMARS. The missile was shot down by the air defense system, and nevertheless, shrapnel pierced the roof of the main building of the Belgorod Region UMVD in two places. Four service vehicles were also damaged. In addition, 49 more vehicles were hit by shrapnel, including six personal police vehicles.

In the evening of the same day, four more HIMARS missiles were shot down as they approached the city. According to the source, a 24-year-old local resident was killed as a result, and three more people were wounded by shrapnel. It is unknown whether the young man died as a direct result of the shelling or due to the air defense system.

In addition, on July 8 in the area of ​​the village of Nikolskoye in Belgorodskaya Oblast a HIMARS missile shot down by air defense hit the building of the “Medved” [“Bear”] restaurant. Three people were killed and four were injured. According to the governor Vyacheslav Gladkov, four private houses, four cars, one minibus and one commercial facility were also damaged in the village. The restaurant building was hit directly, said Gladkov.

On July 8 Russian troops carried out a massive shelling of Ukraine. According to the latest data at the time of publication, at least 38 people were killed and 140 were injured. One of the missiles hit the largest Ukrainian children’s hospital, Okhmatdet, in Kyiv. 30-year-old nephrologist Svetlana Lukyanchuk and a relative of one of the patients were killed there. A total of 32 people were injured in Okhmatdet, eight children were hospitalized.
